Detail Report
Preparation begins a week before the distribution date. When we divide up the money available for Merhabete Children for each becomes 54 Ethiopian Birr($5.5USD). We call for the five local church leaders and mention all the details for them. All of them asked us to buy clothes and take for them. The main reasons they asked us that way are they can not get clothes there in such amount and they can not get enough number of clothes there. Willingly we take the responsibility and purchase for all 250 children the same kind of clothes according to their ages.

The engine started around 6:00 am and arrived at 11:00 am at Fetra. Church leaders, children and their family were waiting church compound. We handed all 50 clothes for church leaders. Church leaders started distributing clothes. We did not wait until they hand over for all children. We left to Alem Ketma.
We arrived at Alem Ketema around 2:00 am. Church leaders received 50 clothes from us and start distributing them while we were there. We took pictures and preach the gospel for the community and left to Meranga.
We arrived at Meranga around 4:00 am. There it was not as easy as Fetra and Alem Ketema. The local government officials refused the church to give clothes for the 50 children. Our assistant for the local church leaders were very important to deal with the local governors. Shewatras took time to discuss with government official why they effused. After a long discussion the reach to a consensus that the church to report such activities for them regularly and focus on poor family. The day gates dark so they could not distribute that day.

While we were there all the 50 children came to Meragna Addis akidan Baptist Church compound and church leaders started distribution. We took some pictures and left to Silafaf.
We arrived at Shilafaf around 9:00 and church leaders immediately collected clothes for 50 children. They were waiting for us at the church compound. So, church leaders started distributing while we were there. We took some pictures there and left to Degollo.
We back to Degollo around 12:30 pm. We gave 50 clothes for church leaders and they distribute them while we were there. We left and stay the night at Alem Ketema.
May 24, 2008 we back to Addis Ababa and arrived safe.

Feedback after the activity
One church leader was at the HQ of Ethiopian Addis Kidan a week ago. He is from Degollo. He said “The community said “this church is here to benefit us” our children must always go to this church. This day on we will bring them for Sunday school.”
In all five places government officials, community and children are very happy.
