Heart for Ethiopia has initiated a “Village Children Sponsorship” program to meet the needs of the poorest children in 5 remote villages in northern Ethiopia. Some of the children are pictured on this page. Most of these children live with a single parent or a relative and many have lost parents to AIDS or have parents who are HIV positive. Through sponsorship you can help these children to attend school, receive health care, and have their basic needs for food, shelter, and clothing met. Children not yet attending school will be able to go to kindergarten. Even if their parent dies they will be able to remain in their village among relatives and friends as they will have continuing support.
By sponsoring a child you will support not only your chosen child but your monthly gifts will be pooled with other gifts to provide for all 50 needy children of the village. You will get regular reports on your individual child as well as reports on the group as a whole. In addition, one-time gifts can be given to meet the needs of the children.
